WHAT IS DR DAO?
Before explaining the project behind Dr Dao, we believe it is right to clarify what an NFT is and what a DAO is.
NFT stands for ‘Non-fungible token’, which means that it’s a unique, digital item with blockchain-managed ownership that users can buy, own, and trade. They are not mutually interchangeable, unlike cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Elrond or Cronos which are by their very nature fungible. Some NFT’s fundamental function is to be digital art. But they can also offer additional benefits like exclusive access to websites, event tickets, game items, and ownership records for physical objects. A lot of the current excitement is around using the tech to sell digital art.
DAO (Decentralized autonomous organizations) is kind of like clubs for crypto enthusiasts, only they typically operate under a shared goal, give each member equal say in making decisions, and can potentially have more money than most clubs would ever know what to do with.
And here we are in Dr Dao.
Dr Dao’s project was born after studying the general NFTs market and the DAOs. Why “Doctor”? When we thought of a character to draw, the role of the doctor seemed much more suitable, as the “Doctor” depicts a very important person within society, which therefore indicates something useful and serious.
About project: basically Dr Dao is a collection of 297 unique hand-drawn NFTs that will work on Cronos & Elrond Network Blockchains. We want to clarify that they will be 297 on Cronos and 297 on Elrond Blockchains.
In chronological order, Dr Dao will first be present in the Cronos blockchain and subsequently will enter the Elrond blockchain. We have chosen the Cronos blockchain not only for its scalability and speed, but also for the still “unexplored” market, thus giving us the opportunity to spread our message in a more direct way and to become pioneers too to build something bigger and bigger. The same reason we choose the Elrond Blockchain: scalability, speed and security.
Dr Dao is not just art: to be owner of a Dr Dao’s NFT means to have access to an exclusive club, Incubator, Staking, Royalties sharing (50% every week) and to take part in a monthly lottery (“Labottery”).
As the name of the project suggests, to be in the exclusive Dr Dao Club means to have voting power on decisions that can broaden and improve the project and also propose new ideas or applications that can evolve and support Dr Dao. The highest goal is to create a community of artists and developers who can share their skills and ideas to give birth to new projects and develop them within the community. That’s why we talk about Incubator, beacuse you are not only obtaining Dr Dao, but also the exclusive participation in projects born under the collaboration of Dr Dao.
In short: owning a Dr Dao NFT also means owning an NFT of future projects born of mutual collaboration, with related benefits.
Another gain is Staking. We have in fact mentioned before that the Dr Dao project will be present both in the Cronos blockchain and in the Elron blockchain. It is fair to point out that owning Dr Dao Cronos’ NFT will give access to staking on Cronos, while owning Dr Dao Elrond’s NFT will give access to staking present on Elrond.
Owning a Dr Dao NFT also guarantees passive earnings: every week, owners of Dr Dao will receive 50% of the profit earned by the Royalties, that is, from the exchange on the secondary Marketplaces of NFTs, and 50% of the commission earned on the Mini Games. In fact, we are also working on the creation of several mini games that in addition to giving a gaming experience, will give those who play the opportunity to win prizes in crpyptocurrencies and those who hold a Dr Dao NFT a gain derived from the commissions for participation in the games. We want to specify that the mini games will be accessible to everyone, not just those who hold a Dr Dao. The first mini game that will be included will be the “Coin Flip”: a simple “Heads or Tails” for those who participate there will be a 50% chance of winning, with a 50% win on the amount wagered.
As we said, we are also working on other mini games which, as per the roadmap, will be included in the future. It will be the community that, with the power of the DAO, will have the right to vote, propose and comment on the creation and development for future mini games.
Exclusively for holders of a Dr Dao NFT, there will be the opportunity to participate in a monthly lottery that we will call “Labottery”, which will take place directly on our website.
